Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard Review
Discover what makes the Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard so different from other gold credit cards. Apply now to get its zero annual fee and incredible 4.99% p.a. for 12 months on balance transfers
You would be forgiven for thinking that the Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard is someone’s fantastical idea of a credit card that doesn’t actually exist in the real world. With an introductory balance transfer offer of 4.99% p.a. for 12 months, a 19.24% p.a. interest rate on purchases and cash advances, and a zero annual fee guaranteed for the life of the card, this looks like a credit card from the Twilight Zone. Especially when you consider that you can still enjoy all the benefits of a normal gold credit card.
The Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard, along with the Bankwest Zero Platinum MasterCard and the standard Bankwest Zero MasterCard all offer the customer these same great rates and deals. There’s no punishing the higher earners with higher rates and fees. Whichever of these cards you apply for, you get the same features. That’s what prompted the influential Money Magazine to name it winner of the Best Transactor Credit Card in their Best of the Best Awards for 2010.
Key features of the Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard
Let’s take the zero annual fee to start with. At a time when credit card providers are nudging up their rates and fees as the economy begins to recover slightly, Bankwest is extending even more of a helping hand to the Australian public by waiving their annual fee. This alone makes the Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard a grab-it-while-you-can type of credit card.
Then there’s the brilliant 4.99% p.a. for 12 months on balance transfers from other non-Bankwest credit cards – even more of a helping hand to see off your credit card debts more quickly. That rate can easily shave 10% off your existing rate, thus saving you hundreds of dollars in interest charges over the year. Okay, there’s a 1% balance transfer handling fee, but with a maximum fee payable of $50, you’re still winning when compared to the annual fees most gold level cards charge.
And don’t forget the normal gold card benefits, such as complimentary airline travel insurance and accident insurance, purchase protection on any goods you buy with the card, and up to 12 months extra on top of the usual manufacturer’s warranty.
