This is one of the new breed of companion credit cards, meaning the customer receives two credit cards – a Visa and an American Express – but they are both on the same account, with one statement, one credit limit, and one annual fee. The idea is that where Amex is accepted you use your Amex card and earn more points per dollar than you would with the Visa. Where Amex is not accepted, you obviously pay with your Visa instead.
