Suncorp Credit Card Fees

Suncorp credit card fees are charged on all credit card accounts. There are a few fees that you need to be aware of when using your credit card.

  • Annual Fee – One of the Suncorp credit card fees you will be charged is an annual fee. This fee is not determined by your Suncorp credit card charges, but it is established when you open the account. The fee for this card is normally charged when you first activate your account. It is charged yearly and may vary depending on how many additional credit cards you have.
  • Cash Advance Fee – Suncorp credit card charges are not always just on purchases, but can also be on cash advances. When you use your credit card for a cash advance, you will be charged a fee. This fee is 2.5% of the cash advance and carries with it a $5 minimum transaction fee. This fee is the fee that is charged when making cash advances in Australia. If you are travelling internationally and use your credit card for cash advances you will be charged 1.5% of the purchase amount once the transaction has been converted to Australian dollars. This is one of the Suncorp credit card fees that you need to be aware of especially when travelling. You are not charged any additional fee if you do a cash advance at a Suncorp ATM, but you may be if you do the cash advance at another bank.
  • Over limit, dishonour and late fees – When making Suncorp credit card charges be very aware of these specific charges. The over limit fee is $40 and will be charged when your credit card goes over the established limit. If you use your credit card for Suncorp credit card charges and that charge is not honoured, you will be charged a $15 fee. If you miss your payment for a month you will be charged $40. While these fees do not seem large, they can add up extremely fast.
  • Other fees – You will be charged $2 for making payments at Australia Post, $14 if you request a statement and $8 if you dispute a transaction (this fee will be reversed if you are found to be correct)

It is very important to understand all these fees before using your Suncorp credit card to make charges. As long as you understand them and are smart about your spending you should never run into a problem with any of these fees.
