As you would expect from one of the Giant Two banks in the Big Four, Westpac has a wide range of credit card deals on offer, but just because Westpac is a big bank, it doesn’t mean their credit cards are the best for you, and you still need to consider all of their features, and their suitability, before you apply.
Types of Westpac Credit Card Deals
Westpac offers a full range of credit card deals, so you can find a card which will help you save or one which rewards you when you spend, a card which can take you overseas or one which can take you shopping. Consider the types of credit card deals on offer from Westpac, to see which one you are best suited to:
- A $0 annual fee credit card. Westpac offers to waive the annual fee for the first year on their student credit card, their 55 Day series of credit cards and their Holden GM MasterCard, the annual fee will also be reduced in the first year on their Earth Platinum card. Plus, there is a dedicated no annual fee credit card available too so you can choose whether you want a discount in the first year to enjoy the extra features of a credit card, or if you want an ongoing $0 annual fee.
- Low interest rate credit card. The Westpac low interest rate credit card deal also includes 55 days interest free, which you will not find on all low rate cards. This means you can avoid paying interest as long as you pay your purchases off within the interest free period, or you may be suited to a low interest rate card if you typically rollover your balance each month.
- Balance transfer credit card deal. If you need to get control over an existing balance, Westpac offers six and nine month balance transfer deals on almost all of their credit cards. This means you can take the time you need to repay your balance, and once you have, you have the perfect card to use and spend the way you prefer.
- Rewards credit card. A rewards credit card means that you can earn points to be redeemed for rewards every time you use your card, so even paying the power bill or buying the groceries can be fun, because it can be getting you closer to the rewards of your choice. With Westpac credit cards you can also choose the rewards program because you can be a part of the Earth program, the Altitude program, or the Holden GM program where your points go towards securing you a discount of your next Holden GM vehicle.
- Gold and platinum cards. If you’re looking for more rewards points, more services and more free extras then compare the gold or platinum credit card deal on offer. With a Westpac gold or platinum card you can enjoy more rewards points per dollar, overseas and domestic travel insurance, plus exclusive access to special events and discounts at partnered venues and retailers.
Benefits of Westpac Credit Cards
To help you decide whether the Westpac credit card deals are really right for you, consider how they would fit into your lifestyle, will they make your life easier, will they be there when you need them? Consider whether you could benefit from:
- Your choice of rewards programs. Not only does each rewards program allow you a choice of different travel and merchandise rewards, but you can choose which rewards card and program would best suit you. do you want to be a part of the Earth or Altitude rewards program and earn points towards merchandise, travel, gift vouchers and discounts, or are you more of a car nut and want to put your spending to good use in earning you a discount on your next car? It’s your choice.
- A companion card. An American express companion card can be linked to a Westpac credit card, but you will maintain one account, one balance and one monthly payment. What you will gain is a greater points earning capacity with your American Express card, and maintained points earning where AmEx is not accepted, with your companion Visa or MasterCard.
